With Dad being in the hospital one of the good things (out of so many other great things) that happened to me was that I learned to cook a little better than before. What with me helping mom in the kitchen and me cooking for mom and dad when they were both down. But my true solo effort came in last Sunday when I plunged into the world of Chicken Curry.
With some excellent help (washing and cleaning) from Manu and good advice from John (who it seems knew how to cook chicken before this) and the complete recipe from Mom and aunt in my hands, I did it. We had bought all the vegetables and necessary spices the previous day (Manu and I). But we did an idiotic thing by buying the chicken the previous day which went bad the next morning even though it was in the fridge. So one more kilo of chicken the next morning evened out everything.
The menu after all the cooking was done:
Rice (bought from the nearest hotel because we had no spare vessel or cooker to cook)
Chicken curry
Rasam
Potato Fries
Vegetable salad in thick curd (carrot, cucumber, tomato and Onions)
And then we had an awesome lunch. The food was great. I was pretty confident throughout the cooking and was quite the pro, I am proud to say. Not bad, now to look for that girl and invite her home to taste my food and…you know…
