Some of you may or may not remember the 3D Stereogram pictures craze in the 90′s. I discovered it when I was in school around ’95-’97, don’t remember exactly when. All I remember is seeing the back cover of the Tamil weekly magazine, Anantha Vikatan, which had this crazy random picture and was advertized as a 3D picture. Reading the instructions and trying to find the picture took me a whole day. But I tell you, it was worth it. Once you see the hidden image, you can never not see it. It was as easy as that. Then I was hooked. I waited every weekend to buy Anantha Vikatan just for the 3D pictures.  I used to buy the magazine, tear off the last page, and then promptly sell the magazine to the old book vendor for half the prize. I had no use for the magazine, you see.

So here’s an example of a 3D image. ©Gary W. Priester – Image used with author’s permission at www.Custom-Stereograms.com

All you have to do is concentrate on a place beyond the picture. Keep trying and you will see a 3D picture. If that does not work, you can cross your eyes to see the picture (it will be a reverse 3D, but still ok).

And another example, with animation.

For more of them, all you have to do is do a Google search.

First one… I don’t know what the hell it is.

However, I see marching soldiers in the animated one.

P.S. I never liked those things when they were “the shit”.

hi, can u guide me where can i get more of these 3 d sterograms images .m looking for a particular picture.

  • Please be so kind as to post a ©Gary W. Priester – All rights reserved notice under the Volcano image. I don’t mind your posting the image but I earn my living creating and selling these stereograms and when someone posts one of my images with attribution it can confuse people about who created the image.

    Thanks
