Ayden’s Greatest Gift From The Chows

Last week some of The Chows were in Bangalore to visit Ayden, our 3 week old baby. And what did Ayden get? A great gift, any set of uncles (hahahahaha, uncles) around the world could give a nephew – a bottle of whiskey to be opened on his 18th birthday. Brilliant!!!

Although, the date mentioned on the package is wrong, we will still open it on the actual 18th birthday – August 27th, 2028. Neat!!!

The captions read:

  • Manu (I mix a mean Rum)
  • Renie (Probably late)
  • Anoopzombie (Took ur dad out 4 a smoke when you were born) – a blatant lie ;-)
  • Gerald (He He)
  • Karthik (If you find me married at least get me this drink)
  • B G (aka Balu Mama)
  • Anand (I prob look like Stephen Hawking right now)

Wow, it is a Chivas Regal Aged 12 Years. The theory behind is that by the time Ayden turns 18 it will be 30 years old. I know purists will argue that it is the number of years in the original barrel is what counts. But hey, who cares :-) ?

Thanks guys! It was a most thoughtful gift.

P.S:- Interested readers can search for more posts about The Chows here (not all of you would want to see personal posts and pictures I am sure :-) )

A Photo And A Cartoon

3-4 of years ago, a friend in IBM took a photo of mine to his friend. This guy did a free style cartoon of the picture I had given using a ball point pen. I had gifted that to Nafisa, which I saw again a few days back, prompting me to blog about it.

This guy is really really good :) (not necessarily me, but the guy who painted… hehehe).

And the original below.

April Fool Hoax? Uk Aa To Use Jetpacks To Rescue Strander Motorists

This should be damn cool, if it isn’t an April Fool’s day prank.

From AA website:

“Despite these innovations, tackling severe road congestion and unpredictable weather conditions, is still a challenge for the UK’s biggest breakdown company. However, help is at hand for the AA, which after 105 years with road-based patrols, is putting patrols in the sky for the first time.

The AA has secretly been running ‘Project Apollo’ based at Dunsfold Aerodrome near Guildford. Here specially adapted AA Jetpacks have been trialled to help patrols get to vehicles that other motoring organisations cannot reach.”

And a picture :)

Apparently, this has been designed to help out stranded motorists and probably accident victims on not accessible or crowded roads.

And an Youtube channel too – http://www.youtube.com/user/theAAPatrol

I think it is a prank. What do you think?

Diwali 2009 Pictures

A little late I know, but the pics were just lying around and so…

Diwali2009 003

There were showers of blessing that day, and badly ringing ears. We could hear firecrackers going boom all day and night.

Some crazy settings with my camera I suppose, and hence the light delay in the photograph. Cool effect.

Another Fosters Art Of Chilling Party That Rocked Bangalore

Another Sunday, not this Sunday but last week, spent partying by the poolside. All thanks to Fosters and its Art of Chilling, perfected with lots of Fosters, barbecue, good people, music and hey that’s a party.

The one thing about this party was that I was able to tweet while partying on my blackberry. That felt nice. Check out the tweets at http://hashtags.org/tag/fosters/messages.

We came in early, for once, and we were joined by a few bloggers, Harish and Rachna. Then Sriharsha and one more blogger friend made a brief apppearance after which they had to run away. Then Bharath a new blogger from office dropped in with a girlfriend. And then we partied all evening, at least, till the party ended. Which we thought was never ;-) .

Since Manu had dropped in from Vellore for a brief visit it was all the more merrier with Nafisa, Anoop, Diana and me having a merry time.

I’ll leave you guys with a picture of Nafisa and I by the Fosters board. :) :) :)
