Fosters Art Of Chilling Party Rocked Bangalore

So last Sunday was the Fosters art of chilling party in Bangalore. After covering so many other cities like Mumbai, Pune, Delhi and others it was time to do this once again in Bangalore. Karthik, Anoop and Renie have been working hard with Fosters for some time now through IndiBlogger.in. And what best way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon than to party your brains out by the poolside?

Karthik, Nafisa and I reached Mercure Homestead at Koramangala, where the art of chilling party was planned at, some time after 1:00 PM. Our blogger friends (Sangfroid and his friend) had already reached and they were calling us. Shame on us. Next time we will be there much before you guys ;-) .

The weather was pleasantly warm and just right for a barbecue party by the pool. There were quite a few people inside and we went straight for the bar. Lots and lots of beer (thanks Fosters) and a decent barbecue helped all of us loosen up a bit.

Dancing to trance and club music was another ‘hit’ at the party. How good is a party without good music? The crowd was good, lots of women, swimming pool, bikinis, beer, music, organizers, etc. made the party worthwhile.

An Ode To My Enfield Bullet

There she was, black, silver, big, heavy and beautiful
She looked so beauuuutiful
It was love at first sight!

She was not easy, she was not nice
She was so hot and she had dull yellow eyes
And I loved her!

She was angry, she bled internally
Years of neglect, misuse and indifference
But she was so proud!

One fine day, when the going was tough
She cried, she could not take it anymore
And then she had a nervous breakdown!

I realized my follies, and then I cried
Took her to the doctor and I told my story
While she looked at me balefully!

Now the times are changed, life is full
Fresh blood, surgery, cosmetics and lots of love
My baby’s back on the road again!

How To Add Social Bookmarking To Blogger

It all started when a blogger from registered in IndiBlogger.in wanted to know how to add social bookmarks to blogger.com. And soon I noticed that there were more bloggers requesting help for the same. So I thought it was better that I put down a blog post about this. And here goes my tutorial on how to add social bookmarks to blogger.com.

First things first, blogger.com does not currently have a provision to add Social Bookmarking to blogs hosted at blogger.com. However, there are work arounds that work really well. Below is a tutorial of how one such workaround will put up Social Bookmarking on your blogger.com blog.

To start off you need some help from 3rd party websites like AddThis. Visit http://www.addthis.com/web-button-select and select the social bookmarking button you like. Then select ‘on a blog’ and ‘Blogger’ platform as I have shown in picture below and click on the “Get your button code” button.

addthis

Then you will see the next page where you can copy the code to be inserted into your blogger.com template. Copy the code and paste it on a notepad or just leave the window open.

code

In a new window, log in to www.blogger.com with your username and password. Once logged in you will see your dashboard. From the dashboard click on the layout link that will take you to edit the layout of your blog.

layout

Then click on Edit HTML link to edit your template.

edit_html

Then select the check box that says “Expand Widget Template”.

expand_widgets

Then do a search for the tag <div class=’post-footer’> in the template. Copy and paste the Social bookmarking widget code below this tag.

add_code

Once that is done, click on Save Template as indicated with arrows above.

And that’s it, Social Bookmarking has been added to your blog. Have fun making your blog readers add your blog posts to Digg, Delicious and other Social Bookmarking sites.

Do visit http://awesomephoto.blogspot.com/ for a live demo. This is an old blog of mine which has now becomeAwesome Photos – http://awesomefotos.com/.

You can also download social-bookmarks-on-blogger as a PDF file for easy offline reference.

One More Award For Me

Marja has so thoughtfully given me an award. Awesome.

Here it goes.

image

Why?

“Blogs who receive this award are exceedingly charming” Ughh ( scrapes her troath) Thanks you Kat (bows gracefully) This blog invests and believes in the PROXIMITY – nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight bloggers who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.” – from original author.

So I pass this onto Jacinth, Thenraj, Sanjeeb, Sreejith, Vineeth, Abhilash, Karthik and Bala.

More 3d Stereograms

s a follow up to my post on 3D stereograms, a new set.

What is it?

A stereogram is an optical illusion of depth created from flat, two-dimensional image or images. Originally, stereogram referred to a pair of stereo images which could be viewed using stereoscope. Other types of stereograms include anaglyphs and autostereograms. From Wikipedia.

So what?

Not only for fun but also used in Space explorations, has clinical, mathematical, scientific and engineering uses as well.

The below image is a superb example for a stereoscopic image and can be viewed using the cross-eyed method.

Below is an excellent example of an autostereogram. This can be viewed best using the ‘wall-eye’ method. That is the opposite of the cross eyed method.

And the most awesomest of all…
