They (iron Maiden) Came, They Played, They Rocked

The Great day came, and its gone now. It was the most rewarding and mind-blowing day of my life. It was worth the pain (from standing under the hot sun for hours) and everything just to see the Gods play right in front of my eyes – LIVE. They played the same playlist from the Dubai Desert Rock Festival. But hey, they played Number of the Beast, Evil That Men Do, Hallowed be thy name, Trooper, Wrathchild, Run to the hills, 2 minutes to midnight and the other songs from their new album AMOLAD (A Matter Of Life And Death).

Iron Maiden were really impressed with the crowd reaction (from what Bruce Dickinson said on stage). And the best part? They are coming back to India in 17 months time. Wow. Is that something or what? I say its pretty amazing. It should be like a second coming of a different meaning … hehehe.

Bruce, Steve and the gang were really active with Bruce and Steve always running around the stage. Bruce even climbed to top of the girders that support the lights by the stage. Crazy? Loco? Yeah. But so where we.

Parikrama did an ok job and played a couple of good originals in the beginning. I didn’t like the too long violin leads though :( . Anyways, they did a good job when compared to the other two bands who played – JTN (some shit like that from the campus rock winners who could not sing for nuts) and Lauren Harris (who couldn’t sing for anything, although the band were playing good music. She sucked big time!!!).

Six hours of standing had its toll. Dehydration and exhaustion were the  bywords for the day – when the concert ended.

I am sure I will be the proverbial garrulous old man (if I live to be an old man and not die before) telling long stories of Iron Maiden when they played live :)
