Some Of My Best Read Novels

Wow, I read a totally different set of books. Strange…hmm…

My all time favorite author of recent times is Lee Child. The Jack Reacher series has been exceptionally brilliant and seat gripping. (Since Mr. Ludlum can’t write from beyond the grave). If as a reader one would like to try out Lee Child, I suggest reading Die Trying to start with. Amazing action with vivid explanations about the 1 mile shot. Yes, how to take a shot across a mile with varying wind conditions, trajectories and with a good sniper rifle. YUM!!!

My favorites are below (all fiction):

Horror: Stephen King’s The Dark Tower Series (there are 7 books out of which all of them are amazing. You just cannot wait until one book is over so you can start on the next)

Thriller: Alistair McLean’s Force 10 from Navarone and Puppet on a Chain

Spy thriller: Robert Ludlum’s The Bourne Series (I tell you, the movies are awesome, but still incomparable to the three original books)

Science Fiction: Isaac Asimov’s The Foundation Series (A trilogy + 2, an amazing story of human endurance and ingenuity and the future of mankind set somewhere far far away in the future. Simply amazing, and marvelous the images that come into your mind when you get involved with Asimov’s books).

Classics: A Tale of Two Cities by Charles Dickens and The Three Musketeers by Alexandre Dumas.

Pulp Fiction: James Hadley Chase and Nick Carter Series.

Latest authors I am reading: Matthew Reilly, Andy McNab and Vince Flynn. And I really hope I find more similar authors once I exhaust the books written by these guys :-( .

And I read every day, at all costs and no matter what. At least 10 pages a day.

Hobbies As Content Inspiration For Bloggers

For people looking for content and inspiration an obvious suggestion would be to write about their hobbies. However, the reason why it is not that obvious at all is because writing about hobbies may not be as easy as it seems.

So here are a few topics that I thought people can write about. Please substitute your hobby where ‘ornamental fish keeping‘ comes.

Topics:

  • Why ornamental fish keeping is your hobby. Maybe you can write how you started it. Keep the post short and simple with a picture or other visual
  • A good follow up post could be one about your current status with ornamental fish keeping and how it inspires you or whatever makes you tick
  • A post somewhere down the line can be about the origins of ornamental fish keeping in the world or maybe specific to India
  • If you have different varieties of ornamental fish keeping then you can talk about them in your next post, post pictures, videos etc.

And so on…

One of my hobbies being reading fiction novels from popular authors I could write posts about the following:

  • Why reading books is my hobby and how I started it when my mom gave me a book to keep me from disturbing her at the kitchen. I could elaborate on how I went on to disturb my mom for MORE books. She didn’t think through that I tell ya!
  • A good follow up post could be one about my current passions with reading books and how they inspire me, console me, help me with my vocabulary, learn the local cuisines and culture of different countries around the world, etc. And all of which, I promise, is true.
  • A post somewhere down the line I could write about the origins of reading books for pleasure started and how they became mainstream. Maybe I could talk about how authors evolved into different genres each suited to its own audience. For e.g. I love spy novels and thrillers involving secret agents or people running away from the Governments (am I repeating myself here… hehehe). I could elaborate on why. Hmmm…
  • I read three main types of novels – Thrillers, Science Fiction (if it is Isaac Asimov) and Horror (if it is Stephen King). So I could write about why I like those specific genres.
  • Then I could run a series of posts about all the different novels I have read and their authors and review them. That could keep me occupied for quite some time. Awesome!!!

I think I’ll implement this soon on this blog.
