Four Generations And A Wedding

Last Christmas, we were in Nagercoil celebrating something and also so we could finish off Ayden’s baptism. Stories are many from that trip, but not all can be told publicly :-) .

One of the best memories from the trip is the following picture taken with Ayden, Dad and Granddad along with me. A very rare picture which I had never imagined in my wildest dreams.

Both my grandparents from my dad’s side of the family are still alive and reasonably healthy at almost 90 years of age. They were extremely happy to meet their great grandchild.

Below is my grandmother holding Ayden in our ancestral home.

And most of all, my brother Eddie got married after Christmas. It was a wonderful affair in Tuticorin and a reception in Nagercoil. I wish him all the best in his new life.

To the left is Sandy, a cousin of mine, and to the right is my sister-in-law Anusha’s  mom.

Altogether another great Christmas and end to an awesome 2010! Yes, I am offering my belated New Year 2011!!!

Bannerghatta National Park Big Cats In Trouble

Poor guys, they seem to have got some bug or something. It has been a sad week with 5 big cats dying in the past week at Bangalore’s Bannerghatta National Park or Biological Park. Two of them were old Bengal tigers and a White Tiger who, officials say, has died of an almost 3 months battle with kidney disease. And another, a cub which probably died of salmonella and E.coli. Really really sad.

Read more here and here.

Anyway, I feel someone has supplied real bad chicken meat there. Hmm…

Some of my old friends (who I hope are still running around):

He was quite majestic looking and not at all bothered about people around.

This guy was a bit uneasy around us. He was lying under the shades when we came and proceeded to get into the man made pool for a quick dip.

This guy was totally cool. All pictures were taken this April – on the 24th to be precise.

Some other pictures I liked:

One of the truly free guys. He was on the rampage and fighting turf wars all around us on the footpaths and on the trees.

Mother and two baby monkeys (Rhesus monkeys) watching out for the big guy in the previous picture.

And two butterflies ‘going at it’ at the butterfly park adjacent to BBP ;-) .

Please do check out my flickr set too.

The High Heavens And Alien Abductions

Trippy as it sounds that is our current experience at the hospital. Nafisa was taken into the OT on Friday August 27th before the sun showed its face. At 6 28 am baby Ayden was born. And that story can be read at Edin’s and at Ayden’s. This story is different.

After a couple of days Nafisa described the experience as an alien abduction with aliens in green masks around strange out-worldly equipments gawking at this strange human who carries another little human in her stomach. And boy did she trip? As Renie asked rightly where can we get this narcotic in the open market? (in all seriousness :-) ).

The second experience is that baby Ayden has been kept under observation in another strange equipment radiating blue light under orders from the high commander and strictly enforced by the sister brotherhood.

The pictures to prove the second.

I rest my case.

P.S: I hope to change the template on my blog one last time without changing anything in the theme. I am just not good at css. Damn!
