My Wife Holding A Mouse By Its Tail

The picture’s shaky but I swear it was Nafisa holding the little mouse by its tail. My wife who is afraid of roaches playing with a saved-from-drowning mouse.

The poor thing got a new lease on life.

A Design On Paper – Time Waster

Just something I did before Renie, Karthik, Nafisa and myself set about having a good party a couple of weeks ago. When I was feeling a little bored.

Just something random.

The Bhachchans Show The Finger

If I showed you this picture without the caption what will you think? I honestly had only one thought in my mind. Damn!

1may09-008

The above was the feature picture in the back of today’s edition of The Hindu. The picture looks as if Amitabh, Aishwarya and Abishek Bachchan are showing ‘a’ finger at the camera and it happens to be the middle finger where all three have seem to have got their voting marks.

Hmmm… interesting. I swear I checked other pictures in The Hindu today where everybody else got their voting marks on their index fingers. If you doubt me go check The Hindu dated May 01, 2009, Bangalore edition (I am not sure about the other States).

Or is this a ‘cool’ statement? I mean, like, ‘yoo hoo, power to the people’ and then show the fingers symbolising something? Or is it too much conspiracy theory?

Hobbies As Content Inspiration For Bloggers

For people looking for content and inspiration an obvious suggestion would be to write about their hobbies. However, the reason why it is not that obvious at all is because writing about hobbies may not be as easy as it seems.

So here are a few topics that I thought people can write about. Please substitute your hobby where ‘ornamental fish keeping‘ comes.

Topics:

  • Why ornamental fish keeping is your hobby. Maybe you can write how you started it. Keep the post short and simple with a picture or other visual
  • A good follow up post could be one about your current status with ornamental fish keeping and how it inspires you or whatever makes you tick
  • A post somewhere down the line can be about the origins of ornamental fish keeping in the world or maybe specific to India
  • If you have different varieties of ornamental fish keeping then you can talk about them in your next post, post pictures, videos etc.

And so on…

One of my hobbies being reading fiction novels from popular authors I could write posts about the following:

  • Why reading books is my hobby and how I started it when my mom gave me a book to keep me from disturbing her at the kitchen. I could elaborate on how I went on to disturb my mom for MORE books. She didn’t think through that I tell ya!
  • A good follow up post could be one about my current passions with reading books and how they inspire me, console me, help me with my vocabulary, learn the local cuisines and culture of different countries around the world, etc. And all of which, I promise, is true.
  • A post somewhere down the line I could write about the origins of reading books for pleasure started and how they became mainstream. Maybe I could talk about how authors evolved into different genres each suited to its own audience. For e.g. I love spy novels and thrillers involving secret agents or people running away from the Governments (am I repeating myself here… hehehe). I could elaborate on why. Hmmm…
  • I read three main types of novels – Thrillers, Science Fiction (if it is Isaac Asimov) and Horror (if it is Stephen King). So I could write about why I like those specific genres.
  • Then I could run a series of posts about all the different novels I have read and their authors and review them. That could keep me occupied for quite some time. Awesome!!!

I think I’ll implement this soon on this blog.

Hybrid Animals – Zorse

This post is a follow up of my earlier article on Top 10 hybrid animals which has been the highest traffic bringer to my blog.

What the hell is a Zorse? That is probably what comes to your mind when you hear the word. Apparently, a Zorse is a cross between a Zebra and a Horse, more specifically between a Zebra stallion and a Horse mare. Even the other way around pairing is possible and is called Horbra.

Sounds funny? Yeah, but this is definitely true. And these Zebroids are damn strong and almost untameable. They can be very aggressive and wild. However, they do have the shoulder featuristics of the horse so that they can be handled with a bridle quite easily. Neat!

How about a video of a Zorse?

And Zorses are like mules. They are born sterile and hence not a separate species line.

Flickr has a huge number of pictures of Zorses, especially of Eclyse the Zorse.

But, the best place to read more about Zorses is to head over to Wikipedia - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zorse.
