Tag Archive: firefox

This is something I wanted to blog about a long long time ago. So long ago that it seems like ages since I have even blogged. Dammit! What the hell happened to me? I used to blog almost everyday. Blame it on work, or as Jamshed says, writer’s block?

Anyways, so this a cool plugin from indiblogger. With this plugin installed you can search for Indian blogs and Indian blog owners by tag, name or city. And all from the Firefox searchbar. Wow. How cool is that huh?

This addon is also available as a plugin on Mycroft.

More info with screenshots at the indiblogger firefox search plugin page.

Please Digg or IndianPad this if you like the plugin.

Download Day 2008

The folks at Mozilla would love to set a Guinness World Record. How? By getting the most number of download for their much awaited Firefox 3 release. An excerpt from their official site below:

“Sounds like a good deal, right? All you have to do is get Firefox 3 during Download Day to help set the record for most software downloads in 24 hours – it’s that easy. We’re not asking you to swallow a sword or to balance 30 spoons on your face, although that would be kind of awesome.

By the way, the official date for the launch of Firefox 3 will be posted here soon – so check back! Join our community and this effort by pledging today.:”

Firefox Pop Up Window Resize Problem

Has anyone else had had this problem before? I mean, you go to one of the blogger blogs and you want to comment on a post. Then you click on the comments link and up pops up the comment page. But then you see that the pop up us smaller in size and you just can’t resize the pop up. I was suffering from this for such a long time that I asked Naveen to change his commenting from pop-up to normal. Hehehehe.

It looks like that there is an issue with installing some add-on or the other for Firefox. Anyway, thanks to Casey’s Critical Thinking, problem solved. All I had to do was change the configuration of resizing new windows in firefox. The steps are simple:

type about:config in the firefox address bar

find dom.disable_window_open_feature.resizable and right click to change the default option of false to true

Yes, children, you are done. I am a genius, yay!

But of course, this is just a solution. But the actual solution is to find the actual problem. Hmmm… now who will help me with that.
