This whole indiblogger thing is totally getting me interested. Actually, the whole indiblogger team is excited about the amount of positive response we are getting on the Indian blogosphere perspective, not to mention the media articles.

We truly believe this to be a revolution in the Indian blogosphere.

Awesome Hyderabad Indiblogger Meet

The Hyderabad indiblogger meet along with event sponsor Microsoft was a great success. One great thing we as the indiblogger team realized was that there is a big student blogger population that not many bloggers are really aware of. We had a sizeable number of bloggers from IIIT, Hyderabad. They were a bunch of cool / nerdy / techie / bloggers. Very interesting!

Some reviews are given below along with excerpts:

On the whole it was nice to meet many of the people who commented on my blog and make new friendships and relationships. Hoping that there will be more meets like this in the future to build the blogging community in India that is sure to explode onto the world stage. Thank you Indiblogger, Balaji and all the folks from Microsoft for making this meet happen.

I think it was a good thing on the part of the indiblogger team to organize the event and would like to thank them for the opportunity provided by them for the bloggers of Hyderabad to come and meet each other.

There was one interactive event where u had to identify your comments . And then do a small “Shake ur booty” kindaa step .

And a pic, of course.

Indiblogger Featured In The Hindu

I wrote a long post and my system hung. Damn! Let me start again.

One of the surprises at Chennai last weekend was when Renie suddenly pulled out the Metro Plus edition of The Hindu. It featured an article on indiblogger. That was extremely amazing for all of us.

An excerpt: “And your new blog buddies don’t need to stay in cyberspace. You can create and organise blogger meetings through the website for bloggers in specific locations with specific interests.”

You can read the article at this link.

Apparently, we were also featured in the  Hyderabad edition of Metro Plus on the 25th. That’s awesome. This article also had a sentence on the upcoming bloggers meet in Hyderabad.

And looking at the number of registrations on the Hyderabad bloggers meet page at indiblogger it probably will be bigger than the Bangalore indiblogger meet. Can’t wait to be on the roll again.

Hyderabad Indiblogger Meet

After a great Bangalore blogger meet, indiblogger.in has two more coming up at Hyderabad and Pune. If you are a blogger from Hyderabad or Pune, you wouldn’t want to miss out on the fun. So join the party at whichever city you are!

Ah, that was one satisfying meet for the indibloggers. I called for the meeting to initiate the whole new feature at indiblogger.in for calling for meetings within one’s city. And I should congratulate the indiblogger team, myself included, for making it a grand success.

The Bangalore meet started at 4:30 PM at Microssoft premises. It went on till about 8:30 PM. That was quite a long meeting I should say. The agenda included introduction of bloggers, an intro into indiblogger by Renie, a skit by the indiblogger team, a presentation of live writer by Microsoft, a presentation by leadcap on empowering India, and of course, free pizzas courtesy of Microsoft.

It was our first major initiative as part of the Chows gang. And we pulled it off. There were so many things that could have been done better with a little bit more planning, of course. But altogether, it was amazing, considering the feedback we got from the attendees. Read more at the following sites:

That’s me welcoming everyone to the Bangalore Indiblogger blogger meet.

That’s part of the bloggers at the meet intently listening to something.

That’s us doing the skit.

And that’s some of us just goofing around after the meet.

More pictures of the meet at Indiblogger group in flickr and Anoopkumar’s photostream at picasa.

I met a lot of people whom I truly found interesting and others who I would have liked to have more conversations. Maybe, in the next meeting. Some notable people are Himanshu (who someone called the ‘walking Stephen Hawking‘), Pradeep Nair (who had to leave early due to work), Mrinal, Ravi from Metblogs, Sanjukta, Comrade Chakra who was the dude of humor, and more and more.

Looking forward to other indiblogger meets now. Not sure if I can spare time to visit meetings in other cities, but in Bangalore, yes. I will be there!!!
